Yesterday (March 21, 2021) I had an opportunity to participate in a seminar held in Kabul City to discuss the challenges of Jaghori (a district in the Ghazni province) and find solutions. Dozens of academic, political, cultural, and social personalities of Jaghori living in Kabul participated in this meeting which was hosted by the social organization, Rawand -e- Naween -e- Jaghori (Jaghori New Trend/JNT).
The speakers in this meeting emphasized on the unity of the people in order to protect the rights of the residents of this district and also the other neighboring districts that have similar problems and common interests.
The most important demands of the people in the fields of education, health, security of this district and its routes to the center of the province, and other development programs and public services were discussed. All the participants emphasized on the fulfillment of these demands.
The speakers also welcomed and appreciated the plan and initiative of the hosting organization to provide this opportunity to discuss the challenges and problems of the Jaghori district. They described it as a valuable and useful step toward discussing political and social issues and demanded to continue holding such.
In addition, strengthening the civil society in Jaghori through the creation of civil institutions and supporting them in Jaghori as a link between the people and the government was one of the other issues that were emphasized by a number of speakers. The role of these institutions as influential organizations in coordinating the people’s affairs, civil education, and reflection of the residents’ needs and views were considered highly important.
In the end, Haji Naeem Parwaresh, the head of the Rawan (JNT), while welcoming the guests in this gathering, stated that scientific, political, and social personalities have a great responsibility for the fate of people and society and asked them to work towards the unity of the people, take serious steps to maintain their unity, and integrity and direct them properly.
